Classes tailored to those with Parkinson’s disease (but open to everyone) combine rhythmic, fluid movements with music chosen to excite and inspire. San Francisco Opera - La Rondine
1:00PM-3:30PM • University of Maine Hutchinson Center
La Rondine is a thoroughly Italian work inspired by Viennese operetta. This rarely performed Puccini gem tells the story of love between a kept woman from high society and a naive younger man of moderate means. This San Francisco opera production features two world renowned signers at their finest: Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu and Russian tenor Misha Didyk. Sung in Italian with English subtitles. Running time: 2 hours 5 minutes with one 10 minute intermission. $15 admission at the door. Refreshments provided by Belfast Rotary to benefit scholarships.

Curtis on Tour

Each season Curtis On Tour brings the extraordinary artistry of the world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music to audiences nationwide, with tomorrow’s leading musicians performing alongside celebrated alumni and faculty. On the 2009–2010 tour, internationally acclaimed violinist Ida Kavafian and cellist Peter Wiley of the Curtis faculty will join Curtis students in celebrating the centenary year of alumnus Samuel Barber with a performance of his String Quartet. They’ll also offer Dvořák’s Piano Quintet and miniatures by Curtis composition students.

Ukranian Egg Decorating Class
6:00PM-8:00PM • Ashwood Waldorf School
A session of Ukrainian egg decorating will be offered at Ashwood Waldorf School on Thursday evening, March 25th from 6-8 p.m. Bridget Qualey will lead participants in the wax relief process called 'Pysanky,' which includes the layout and application of progressive layers of wax and dyes. All materials will be provided. Students 6th grade and older are also welcome. Come spend an enjoyable time exploring this ancient tradition while sharing in each other's company. Space is limited so please sign up with the school’s office. A donation to Ashwood's ongoing Room to Grow capital campaign, which is raising funds for the new grade school building, would be appreciated.
